The Amsterdam experiment has proven that increasing the availability of a drug also increases usage. This disproves the fourth sentace of your comment.
I oppose drug prohibition because I believe that human freedom and self-ownership are the foundation for universal ethics, but I also believe that it isn’t a black and white issue. I hate this, but it’s true: some people are better off without freedom. If you believe in Marxism then you should be the first to know this.

funny how its ok to switch your addiction to a legal pharmaceutical alternative and then call the problem under control when it is anything but that. you have just switched dependancies, from your street dealer to your pharmacist and now your insurance funds your habit!!

Meth is easy to procure if you aren’t a dumbass. Why should people be locked up for doing what they want with their own bodies? It would be made safer because there would be quality control (by the way that’s one of the stupidist questions I’ve ever heard, you’re asking if I consider pharmaceuticals more reliable then street drugs). It could be regulated and controlled. You’re real high and mighty with your ideas on how others should live, but don’t put them in fucking cages for it you pig.

They have made safer drugs, many antidepressants are amphetemines, which do increase the dopamine in the brain. The difference is that they don’t overload you with dopamine, which causes your brain to shut down and stop making it. The brain is extremely complex, and as far as I know there’s no known way to repair this shut down of production. If you’re having real psyciatric problems antidepressants can help, but there’s no reason to chase the destructive, extreme, temporary high of meth.

It is legal. They perscribe it for add under the name Desoxyn…which to me is pretty freakin’ scary.

  19. Comment by Anonymous | August 2, 2009 @ 7:07 pm

Because that’s impossible. We’re not as advanced as you think.

  20. Comment by Anonymous | August 2, 2009 @ 7:07 pm

    believe me…..that’s not the case.

Marxinator, your an idiot. How could it be made safer? More people would take it if it was legal, because it would be cheaply massed-produced, and easy to procure. but none of that would make it any safer or any better. and on top of that, isnt there already lots of research going on to try and change its negative effects? what makes you think it would be any better when it was leagal? if you want to ruin your life with it thats bad enough, but dont try to make it easier for the public.

  22. Comment by Anonymous | August 2, 2009 @ 7:07 pm

everyone would have clean houses if they were on meth.

  23. Comment by Anonymous | August 2, 2009 @ 7:07 pm

If meth were legal it could be regulated and made safer. People would be able to have safe environments in which to administer their dose and they wouldn’t be afraid of seeking medical help if such a thing were needed. Also it would be manufactured to be pure instead of adulterated. I don’t understand why people have the idea that making a drug illegal some how lowers the amount of destruction it does. We only have 2 million people in jail (most for non-violent drug offenses) in the US.

Or wealthy people… bums are nicer.
