    but there really isn’t an exact meaning for the song, but it is commonly believed it was written in response to the death of his father and was influenced by his relationship with his wife

    its not about those kind of drugs, he’s talking about his dad who died of cancer, and all the drugs that were involved with trying to keep him going, to keep him alive. Its also inspired by his girlfriend.
