I’ve lost 23 pounds and counting over the course of the last 5 months. I’m really proud of myself, as it’s the most weight I’ve ever lost and the most committed I’ve ever stayed to an individual diet. It’s been hard work, but the rewards here have been more than obvious as I look the best I’ve looked in years.
The thing that makes it all different this time around is the fact that I’m really enjoying the changes that I’m feeling, and I genuinely believe that I’ll be able to keep this up for a long time. Let me share a few tips with you that have helped me achieve my success.
For a start, I’ve banished artificial sugars from my diet. I don’t even have cane sugar in drinks or food, but keep to the natural sugars that are found in fruits and vegetables.
The main type of sugar on my black list has to be high fructose corn syrup, as its been linked to weight gain and diabetes.
If you look carefully at the ingredients in everyday foods such as ketchup and bread, you’ll see that even they contain high fructose corn syrup.
I’ve also taken up running on a regular basis. Although my body complained at first I’m now running five days a week. My objective is to improve my distance and speed each week. Exercise is terrific, it burns off a lot of calories and makes you feel good.
Lastly, I’ve stopped drinking diet sodas. Even though they contain no calories, I’ve looked into the subject and discovered they can actually make you put on weight.
Apparently, the chemicals these sodas contain trick your brain into thinking you’ve had sugar. Then, your body reacts in the same way it would if you had just taken in sugar. So, there’s no benefit. These days I prefer to quench my thirst with good old water.
