Transfer Money to India Using Your Cell Phone

If you ever need to send money to India, you are likely always looking for new pathways to do so. There are of course the usual options that have been used for years, such as financial institutions, money transfer services, and mailing a prepaid debit card. However, now you can also use your phone to send money to India, which is good news if you have family there that needs your assistance financially.

As long as your relatives have Tata Indicom, which is a major cell phone provider in that country, they can transmit and receive funds as much as they want. The program is called Green Money Transfer, as no paper is required. It is all dependent on technology, and your family members will simply need to sign up for the service before they transfer or accept money.

Once they sign up, they should go to the nearest location to them and get a transfer for up for 5,000 rupees. If you are transferring funds to them, they will simply need a transaction code in order to go to Green Tata PCO location near them to pick up the funds. This is after you have initiated the remittance on your phone. Though the service has few locations right now, look for future expansion, or even other similar servicest that allow transfers from the phone.

If you want to send money to India through phone but do not have this cell phone provider, there are other choices. You may send them a prepaid debit card. Once you select a service from which to get the card, you can send it to your relatives, and then call the company to add money to the card. If your phone has Internet, you can also log on to add money that way. It will cost your relatives less than 50 rupees to use the prepaid debit card at retailers, and about 140 rupees every time they withdraw money from an ATM, no matter the amount. Each time you send money to the card, you will be charged a $5 fee, so sending large lump sums is more cost-effective than sending a little at one time. Either way, this method is often much less expensive than using a financial institution, and it is especially convenient if your relatives do not belong to a bank.

Whatever the reason you have to send money to India, there are several choices. Transferring funds from a phone is just more appealing to most people, and typically the cheapest choice. Whether you decide to use cell phone providers or a prepaid debit card, sending money to family in India is doable without breaking the bank, or even holding an account.

Sending Money To India Through The World Wide Web

Need to wire money but you are unsure which online service to use? Well there are plenty of options, but you must do some research to avoid getting ripped off by high fees or unreliable companies. It is important to remember wiring money to India via the internet can sometimes be dangerous. At times it is difficult to distinguish between reliable companies and those online companies falsely promising to get your cash there safely.

You must also remember to pay attention to the fine print. Some companies refuse to offer refunds if you commit a “user error,” and will argue the money cannot be converted back from U.S. dollars to rupees after it had already been converted once. Although it doesn’t make much sense, it’s all the more reason why you should do a little research before wiring funds to India.

Another reason to investigate is because the exchange rate is dependent on the service you decide on. This is just one reason why offline wire services and re-loadable debit cards have grown in popularity. Companies such as these decide the rate based on the official financial market rate for that day, unlike other companies which are left to make the decision on their own. You can imagine those that decide on their own rate will surely have it benefit the company as opposed to the customer.

Online money transfers and postal mail are other ways to go, with the latter – also known as “snail mail” – taking up to five weeks to arrive. A quicker option is to buy a re-loadable debit card that simply requires web or telephone access in order to add cash from a credit card or bank account. The card is then shipped by FedEX and delivered to the recipient at whatever location they desire. This method has proven to be quicker and safer than using the postal mail and recipients can avoid exchange rate battles with companies by simply withdrawing their money from an ATM in India.

As you can see, there are several ways to transfer money over to India, and as you can also see, it is important to research the methods before committing to any one.

When it comes to tranfer money to India, getting the right information can be a daunting task. That’s why we put together this confidential report for you at transfer money to India

Designer Salwar Kameez Are A Great Fashion Alternative

The world of fashion seems to be spinning so fast these days. Twice a year new lines of clothing come out and what is in your closet from last year just doesn’t cut it anymore. If you are hanging onto clothes from even five years ago, chances are that they are hopelessly outdated. Of course, jeans and t shirts are always an option, but as soon as you need to look nice for the office or a date, you need to keep up with the latest releases from the top fashion houses around the world. The problem is that this can be both time consuming and expensive. It also means that you closet gets cluttered up with lots of clothes that you don’t wear anymore. One way around that is to wear more timeless, ethnic designs. As the globe keeps shrinking outfits that were once considered traditional are now becoming revamped for everyday fashion wear. For instance, if you want clothing that is both attractive and comfortable, you should consider wearing a designer salwar kameez.

Even twenty years ago, you would only find salwar kameez worn by men and women who lived in northern India, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. This garment is a variation of the styles worn by the Mughals over four hundred years ago. The basic garment hasn’t changed all that much, even though the variations are now endless. Essentially you have a pair of baggy trousers that are held up with a drawstring or an elastic waistband. They can have pleats like harem pants or they can just a loose and straight cut.

A salwar is a long shirt that reaches to approximately the knees of the wearer. Previously the sleeves were cut out with the entire garment, but today Western inset sleeves are much more common.

From this simply base, there are many variations that can be done to the salwar kameez that make it such a popular item of clothing for anything from lounging around the house to wearing out for a night on the town. While you can buy readymade ones in the West, in South Asia you go to a shop and simply pick out the fabric.

It comes in a set so that you don’t have to worry about matching it properly. Once you have the fabric picked out you go to a tailor and have him stitch it for you in the style and cut that is most flattering to your body type. If you pick out a plain cotton fabric and get a simple scoop neck and sleeves then your salwar kameez is very workaday. However, if you choose a diaphanous fabric liberally sprinkled with bead work and get it cut with a low neckline and a fitted torso, suddenly you have created evening wear.

Designer salwar kameez are styles that are readymade and displayed in an upscale South Asian show room or a Western clothing boutique. The fabric and the cut were determined by a designer and you buy the size that fits you. This adds up to a garment that is incredibly flattering but doesn’t change every year with the oscillating dictates of modern, Western fashion.

Cochin (India) – A Tourist’s Paradise

Cochin, also known as Kochi, is a tropical paradise of sandy beaches and waving palm trees. It is located in the Indian state of Kerala, which is a strip of coastal territory in the south of India that stretches down the Western Ghats, and reaches up to the Arabian sea.

Cochin is comparatively cleaner and calmer than many other Indian tourist places. In fact, you could easily mistake the look and feel of the place for a small, traditional European city. The influence of the British, Dutch and Portuguese, who all ruled there during past centuries, is still noticeable in many aspects of life, not limited to architecture, infrastructure, language, and social attitudes.

Cochin is a deeply religious place, and the local people there have varied ethnicity. You will find Hindus, Muslims, Jews and Christians living in harmony and celebrating all festivals enthusiastically. All places of worship are present (temples, mosques, churches and even synagogues), and you will come across some fantastic examples of them, with colorful and interesting histories.

Cochin’s most famous landmark is a set of Chinese fishing nets at the mouth of the harbor leading to the Arabian sea. These fishing nets are over a hundred years old, yet they are still used on a daily basis. As well as watching the fishermen work, you can also join in and help them if you want to. There are, of course, lots of other worthwhile sights there too, more than enough to occupy you for a week or two.

The coastline that extends from Cochin has some of the most exotic beaches in India. The coconut lined sands and clear blue sea, make a picture perfect destination to spend to your vacation. The beaches are unspoilt too, with normally just a few beach huts and restaurants along the shores, so you can enjoy the surroundings just as nature made them to be.

As for where to stay, Cochin was one of the first places in India to pioneer the concept of homestays, which provide a much needed additional source of income to the locals, while at the same time giving you a chance to experience the real Cochin. With homestay accommodation, you live at the home of a local family, and will be shown around and looked after by them.

1927 Line Up Of Indian Motorcycle

1927 witnessed the ascent of Indian Motorcycle with three products from its line the Indian Scout, the Indian Chief and the Indian Ace. They made a major impact and alongside they acquired the assets of the Ace Motorcycle Company which got them the name of Indian Four.

1927 was a historic year when a number of things happened simultaneously. The first talking movie called The Jazz Singer, with Al Jolson was released. Next event that took place was trans-Atlantic flight of Charles Lindbergh to Paris. Finally Babe Ruth hit his 60th home run in a 8 innings game between New York and Washington with Louis Gehrig coming up for further battering.

1927 will go down in the history as the year which saw the fantastic rise of Jazz culture though the farmers were having a tough time and sold out their farms to become tenant farmers for others. This year was also a good year for Indian Motorcycle Company.

The sign that Indian Motorcycle was doing fine came from the fact that the sale of the Scout and the Chief went up. Moreover the Ace Company bike, the rights of which were acquired by Indian Motorcycle, produced a four cylinder machine which was named “Ace Indian”. After a year the name was changed to Indian Four which was a huge and luxurious bike.

Indian Four bike from the Indian Motorcycle was built till’42. originally known as Indian Ace this bike got 77 cubic inch (1,256 cc) four cylinder machine in’41. It was fitted with tank-shifting three speed transmission and famous Indian fender. After’42 with the start of World War II the production of Indian four was stopped altogether.

In’27 Indian Motorcycle became identical with America. The maximum supply of the Scout and Chief were to the police department. The requirement increased so much that Indian Motorcycle had to have a separate branch dealing with it. Indian Motorcycle also worked upon to lower the frame of the bike in’27.

Indian Motorcycle had no clue that from’28 the 101 Scout from their line would become hugely popular. They could not even imagine that after 40 years the bike would make the Under-1000 cc speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats in northwest Utah.

A’27 Indian Motorcycle is a rare find today. The few specimens that have been tenderly restored to the attractive machines they started out as can sell for as much as $30,000. Clearly,’27 was a great year for the Indian Motorcycle Company.

Porsche 977 Carrera Sports Car

A new Porsche 911 is always intriguing because it’s exciting to see how after more than 40 years of development the Porsche team still manages to bring alterations and advancements to this iconic exemplar.

The new 997 blends the silky modern looks of the 996 series with the fashionable retro styling of the older 911’s. The front end is finished with round lights and separate parking/fog/indicator lights. This modification, coupled with wider hips echoes the last of the air-cooled 911’s, the 993. Other changes in the body shell are the new door handles, wing mirrors and the trendy cut of the rear wings into the bumper/lights.

Even if the 997 looks a lot like the preceding model, the 996, the new car is in point of fact 38mm wider which makes for a more forceful look. With each new model brought out, Porsche has tried to reduce the drag co-efficient helping the 911 glide through the air more efficiently thereby aiding performance. The same thing has been done with the new car, and if we compare the 993 Cd of 0.34 to the 997`s 0.28, we can see how far the aerodynamic game has moved on. The latest body shell and rear wing combine with new under body paneling to also offer increased levels of down force for this latest evolution of Porsche’s best.

The latest Porsche model has the best handling 911 ever. Improving a car’s firmness helps ensure that the suspension can work more effectively and although not making such a quantum leap as the team did with the 996, Porsche enhanced torsional rigidity by 8% and added as much as 40% more strength.

For their new model car, Porsche sought to enhance crash safety provisions so they added two new air bags, which are located in the side of each front seat back-rest and are designed to protect the thorax. They also kept the earlier two front and two side airbags, which means that now there are six air bags in total. For the same reason, that is crash safety, the toughened body shell features further protection such as a more extensive use of very high strength steel.

The most recent model is also 50 kg heavier than the 996. The reason is that current crash safety regulations kind of force vehicle manufacturers to produce new cars of increased weight, despite the widespread use of a large range of weight saving measures, such as an aluminum bonnet.

Aside from the crash safety advancements, much of the additional weight can be attributed to the higher standard specifications of the new cars. The power to weight ratio is analogous with the latest car offering 233 bhp per tonne against it’s predecessors 238 but the new model’s superior aerodynamics must help it achieve Porsche’s claimed performance figures, which are identical to those of the 996.

Buy Gold During Times of Inflation

Gold is the go to money in times of inflation and economic crisis. Gold is a hedge against inflation. If you are saying to yourself right now that gold is not money, and that it is just a shiny relic that people wear around their necks, then you are dead wrong.

Gold has been used as money for nearly 6,000 years. The first forms of good money that qualified as real money were gold and silver. Aristotle believed that stable money had the following characteristics.

1. The ability to be durable. It must stand the test of time and not wither.

2. The ability to be portable. Good money needs to hold value in a small space.

3. The ability to be divisible. Real money should have the ability to be divided evenly and still hold its value. Also known as fungibility. Diamnonds are not fungible because each diamond has it’s own value.

4. It must hold a rare value or quality.

Those four requirments are important because Plato and Aristotle knew something that most people today are not aware of. Our paper dollar, and all paper money for that matter, do not meet any of the requirements of sound money.

Paper is paper. It can be made on the spot and printed at will. Paper is neither rare or durable. The trust that we put into paper is the only thing giving it value at this point.

A dollar bill is nothing more than a piece of paper with ink stamped on it. That’s it. It would be the same thing if someone gave you a sheet of writing paper to mow their lawn. There is no difference between the two. The two are paper.

If someone gave you oil, silver, copper, or gold to wash their car then it is different. Those are real assets. It indicates hard work and sweat to bring those assets about.

Our money becomes more worthless each day our government prints more money. A dollar crisis is happening right now, and most don’t know it. Gold and silver were the first real established currencies that stood the test of time. This is because gold cannot be printed at will.

Mining companies have to put lots of money and resources to even get close to producing any gold or silver. Energy and time is consumed in this process. Paper currency is a relatively new thing in world history. Since the start of using paper as currency, and there have been hundreds, all of them have failed.

Gold and silver coins are the only way to protect yourself from rising inflation. While paper money falls in value, gold will continue to soar higher.

Gold is in the middle of a 20 year bull market, and the dollar will continue to plummet. The most recent gold high is around $1,100/ounce. Inflation means that people will flock to gold. Why do they do this? Gold cannot be printed or inflated. What does that even mean?

Think of a balloon that you inflate. Basically, you are making that balloon bigger by blowing air into it. Well, our dollars are being inflated in much the same way. The more dollars that our government prints at will means more dollars in circulation. In this situation you have more dollars chasing the same amount of goods, which results in higher prices.

Inflation means printing more money, it does not mean prices have risen. The result of printing more money is high prices. The best advice I have heard is to get out of dollar related assets before it is too late.

Gold, silver, gold bullion, silver bullion, and mining stocks should be in your investment portfolio right now. China, India, and Arab nations are currently getting out of dollars and into gold. Is it time for you to do the same?

God bless.

Holidays In The Maldives – Bandos Island

Bandos island resort had refurbishment during 2005 which saw it not only receive a stylish face lift but also extend its exiting facilities and add extra accommodation.

The look and feel of Bandos is a natural balance between casual and formal, with thatched roofs but fine tiled floors, for example. Some of the rooms in the standard and junior class have an interconnecting door for families split between several rooms.

The main bar and coffee shop are well-placed near the water, and the bar is often a hive of activity until the early hours of the morning. The restaurants, while not particularly inspiring in their decor, do serve a range of quality dishes.

Since the resort is popular with families, children who are not quite old enough to take part in some of the older games and activities will probably find other children their age to play with. Visitors with young children need to be aware that the lagoon tends to deepen quite quickly so be careful when allowing you kids in or near the lagoon.

There are 84 standard rooms which look out over the beach and another 19 that are slightly set back. In addition there are 48 Junior suites and 48 circular-shaped Beach villas.

Bandos is a center point for diving in the Maldives, boasting a decompression chamber among its many facilities. The dive center here is both a Platinum Facility of the International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers and a PADI Gold Palm Resort.

You can expect a special event if you plan to get married on Bandos, the ceremony is held on the beach of one of the uninhabited islands in the atoll ? Kuda Bandos ? and is followed by a private cruise for the newlyweds on a Dhoni (Maldivian boat).

Andrea is a journalist and loves to write about exotic locations she has travelled to such as Bandos island and about maldives holiday packages

Why Invest in Land in Brazil?

Brazil is emerging from the crisis, and next year we are going to have surprising growth President Lula da Silva said last month. A bold but not inaccurate statement. There is evidence to advocate that Brazil will be one of the first economies to recover from the economic slump in an emphatic manner. The OECD is predicting 4% economic growth for Brazil in 2010.

The oil industry is booming. Brazils target is to double production by 2012 to 3.5 million barrels a day, placing it high amongst many Middle Eastern rivals such as Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Petrobras, the State-owned oil company, is developing its recently found deepwater reserves with a $174 billion investment program over 5 years and the US has agreed to provide up to $10 billion in finance to further development. Having diversified and industrialized its economy prior to many of its major finds, Brazil should avoid over-reliance on oil and increase domestic wealth significantly.

The growing middle classes and consequent increasing domestic consumption of the BRIC nations is creating greater demand for exports. While US consumers continue to tighten their purse strings, Brazil, Russia, India and China will be responsible for around 50% of worldwide export demand.

Brazil has spent enormously on tourism since 1995, increasing international visitor numbers from 1.9 million to 5.2 million in 2008. The 2014 World Cup is expected to increase tourism and the Government is pledged to spend in excess of $250 million over the next 5 years on airports, roads, sanitation and hydroelectric power.

The Brazil property market is booming. Mortgage lending around the world as a percentage of GDP is much higher than in Brazil where it is only 2.5%. In the US it accounts for 68% with Germany and Spain at 45% and other developing nations such as Mexico and Chile at 11% and 20% respectively. Although there was a worldwide economic crisis mortgage lending in Brazil rose 41% last year, while other countries lending contracted. Caixa Economica Federal lent 19 Billion Reais in 2008 and expects to lend 26 billion Reais in 2009. This compared to 5 billion Reais in 2005.

Brazils economy is worth $1.5 trillion, yet exports only represent 12% of this. Its population of 190 million is seeing a boom in the middle classes, which now make up more than half its population. With their increased buying power, Brazilians are buying more food, more clothing and more household goods than ever before. Sales figures for Whirlpool, which has a 40% share of Brazils appliance market, were 20% higher in May and June 2009 compared to a year earlier. Though this has been partially fuelled by tax incentives, which are due to end in October, sales are expected to remain strong. “Over the next five years, we’ll see a doubling of sales of durable goods in Brazil,” says Jos Roberto Tambasco, vice-president for operations at Po de Acar. In preparation to meet the increased demand for white goods, the supermarket giant recently paid $422 million for the appliance retailer Ponto Frio which has a network of 458 stores nationwide.
